The Chinese Economists Society (CES) will organize an international conference in Atlanta, Georgia from July 30 to 31, 2004.  The conference will take place at Global Learning and Conference Center and Georgia Tech Hotel and Conference Center, a world class facility at the new Technology Square Complex in midtown Atlanta. 
 
The CES Summer Conference 2004-Atlanta will have a broad scope.  Papers in all fields of economics will be considered, although a preference will be given to papers related to the theme of “Technology, Human Capital, and Economic Development” and to papers related to China.  Session proposals are welcome.  Graduate students are encouraged to submit papers.  
 
Please submit an abstract of approximately 400 words via the conference web site http://china-ces.org/ces2004/.  The deadline for submission is February 15, 2004.  Papers accepted for the Conference will be announced by March 15, 2004.  Completed papers are due on July 15, 2004 and will be put on the conference web site and distributed to discussants.  
 
For paper presenters and invited discussants, the Conference is planning to cover local accommodations (including four-star level hotel rooms for July 30-31 based on double occupancy and meals) and to provide limited subsidies on travel, contingent on the availability of funds.
