Jinhe Center is planning to fill up to 15 faculty positions in the coming 3 years. It invites applications for faculty positions at all levels(Assistant Professor, Associate Professor and Full Professor) in economics starting September 2011.
Migrated from Shanghai in 1950s, Xi’an Jiaotong University continuously ranks in the Top 10 list of best Universities in China. Jinhe Center for Economic Research was founded in 1997 in Xi’an Jiaotong University by Professors Yusen Kwoh (Chicago trained) and Chuntien Hu (Princeton trained) from Taiwan. The center offers B.A, M.A. and PhD degrees in economics with curriculum and teaching materials similar to world’s leading programs in economics. Most teaching until now were done by visiting professors from Taiwan and North America. Four junior faculty members were trained in the center.
Our mission now is to build the core of an academically oriented economics program from scratch in this ancient capital of China. Current focus of research: 1) macro and financial synthesis in the light of recent crisis. 2) Governments’ role in the context of Chinese economy.
Associate and assistance professor will have responsibility to advise PhD and Master students.
