Dear CES members and friends:
This is to inform you that the 2020 CES China Conference, originally scheduled to be held in Wuhan in June, is now cancelled. We delayed this decision with the hope that we might be able to postpone the conference to a later date this year. However, the escalation of the global pandemic has made such rearrangement impossible.
While academic travel has come to a halt, our research cannot stop. I have therefore decided that we will still publish a special issue of the China Economic Review as originally planned. Professor Yingyao Hu (from JHU) and I will coedit the special issue, and a Call for Submissions is coming soon.
I sincerely hope that CES will be able to hold a conference in Wuhan in the near future. It will be not only an academic event but also an opportunity to pay respect to the great people of Wuhan who have sacrificed so much in the fight against COVID-19.
In the meantime, stay healthy and safe.
