The predecessor of the School of Economics,Minzu University of China was the Political Economy Teaching and Research Office of the Political Department of Central University for Nationalities established in 1952, and the Institute of Ethnic Minority Economics established in 1980. The School of Economics (hereinafter referred to as the "College") was established in August 2000, and in March 2004, the integrated management system of the Institute (Institute of Ethnic Minority Economics) was implemented. The institutional structure has continued to today. The college has a complete talent cultivation system from undergraduate and master's to doctoral and postdoctoral students, with doctoral and master's programs in Chinese minority economics (national key cultivation disciplines, "211", "985", and "Shuang Yiliu" key construction disciplines); There are authorization points for master's degrees in theoretical economics (provincial and ministerial key disciplines) and applied economics, with 9 secondary disciplines including Political Economy, Western Economics, Population Resources and Environment Economics, Development Economics, World Economics, Regional Economics (provincial and ministerial key disciplines), Finance, International Trade, and Public Finance; There are three master's programs in Finance, International Business, and Taxation; At the undergraduate level, there are innovative courses for top talents in Economics (national first-class major), International Economics and trade (national first-class major), Finance (national first-class major), Public Finance (Beijing first-class major), Digital Economy. The college has provincial and ministerial level research platforms, bases, and teams such as the "China Prosperity Strategy Research Institute", "Research Base for Economic and Social Development in Ethnic Regions", "Central South Peninsula Economic Research Center", and "Innovation Team for Poverty and Development Research in Ethnic Regions". It has also established academic research platforms such as the "Digital Economy Research Institute", "Contemporary China Economic Research Center", and "Poverty Reduction and Development Research Institute".
